1️⃣ Observation and notes (3 consecutive days)Keep a short observation journal for 3 days:
- When does your dog seem the most relaxed?
- Where does your dog most often lie down?
- How does your dog react to walks, other dogs, and noises?
- Do you notice any changes in their behavior?
2️⃣ Introducing a new ritualChoose one daily ritual to strengthen your bond (e.g. evening cuddles, hiding treats after breakfast, sitting quietly together).
Do it consistently for a week and note how your dog responds.
3️⃣ Evaluating your dog’s home spaceTake a photo of your dog’s current resting area and reflect on:
- Is this place calm and safe?
- Does your dog choose it on their own, or was it “assigned”?
- If needed, move the bed and observe how your dog reacts.
4️⃣ Walk analysisDuring the next 3 walks, focus on:
- how you handle the leash (do you give your dog space?),
- how your dog behaves when passing other dogs,
- whether there was a moment when your dog wanted to move away — and whether you allowed it.
Write down your key observations.
5️⃣ DIY sensory toyPick one of the recommended sensory toys (e.g. lick mat, sniffing mat, puzzle toy) and make it yourself or use a ready-made one.
Take a photo or write a short description of what you created and note how your dog reacted.
